While using Elluminate Live! on Microsoft Windows 7 I've had problems with my audio, either not being able to hear others or others not able to hear me. What causes this?
UPDATE: With the release of Elluminate Live v10.0.1, Elluminate has been able to overcome the issues related to the Windows 7 audio issues. If you encounter any issues with audio on Windows 7 as described below, please ensure that your session is v10.0.1 or higher. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact Technical Support. DATE: 2010-03-31 Elluminate has received reports from customers with audio issues while using Microsoft Windows 7 with Elluminate Live!. these issues are usually described as the audio suddenly stopping while either speaking or listening in an application. This problem not only affects Elluminate Live! but other applications on Windows 7 as well, including many website plug-ins. This happens when running an application that performs audio playback and audio capture simultaneously. The cause of the issue is that the WaveOut API on Windows 7 sometimes failes to process audio samples correctly when the response of your audio device is slow. this is a problem on how the WaveOut API handles audio playback and capture requests submitted by an application. Microsoft has identified this as a bug in Windows 7 and is planning to release a hot fix, as detailed here. We strongly suggest keeping your Windows 7 operating system up to date so that when Microsoft provides a fix, you will have it as soon as possible. Should you encounter this problem while using Elluminate Live!, we recommend running the audio setup wizard and re-selecting your audio input device. If you have any questions, please submit a ticket to the Elluminate Support Team and we'll assist you in any way that we can. Best Regards, Elluminate Technical Support
